Why use laser goggles?
It is crucial to take protective measures when dealing with low-power (≤1mw) lasers as they can cause cumulative damage to the eyes. For lasers with output powers greater than 1mw but less than 0.5w, direct laser beams can only be viewed with laser protective glasses. In the blinking reflection time of about 0.25s, the output laser can cause eye damage. For lasers with power >0.5w, direct exposure to the light beam or even the reflected light can cause severe eye damage. Hence, strict protective measures must be taken when operating such lasers. Operators must not wear laser protective glasses while handling these lasers.
